Kaohsiung throughput up 9.86pc over first two months

Taiwan's port of Kaohsiung handled 1.48 million TEU in the first two months of the year, up to 9.8% over the same period last year, according to the port's authorities. The latest figures show that during January and February imports rose 9.5% year-on-year to stand at more than 747,000 TEU, while exports grew by 10.1% to 735,200TEU. During this period, Kaohsiung handled 72 million tons of cargo, up 9.48% year-on-year, while the total number of vessels calling at the port climbed 6.6% to 6,265.
