ISPS sees six ships denied entry to canadian ports

Six ships lacking valid International Ship and Port Security certificates were denied entry at Canadian West and East Coast ports during the first week of its enforcement. One is still being detained at a Canadian port, while the other five have been released, Transport Canada spokesman Bernard Pillon told, declining to identify the ports. Meanwhile, Canada's leading container ports - Vancouver, Montreal and Halifax - are all ISPS-compliant having submitted security plans to transport Canada, said a Vancouver Port Authority spokesma
